Just a big fat blank

I am crap at this blogging lark, C.R.A.P.

I simply have nothing to say, which would dumbfound most people that know me in 'real' life and quite a few online acquaintances too I might add.

The last few days have consisted of;

a) 2 baby guinea pigs peeing and pooping everywhere,
b) dealing with allergy bought on by said guinea pigs,
c) taking elderly men to garden centres to get brownie points,
d) offending parents by asking them not to fuss so much,
e) Sleeping. A lot.
f) trying my damnest not to get hooked on Big Brother
g) finally getting a date for my head and neck MRI, hurrah.

You see? Nothing. Nada. Nowt.

No excitement here, move along please.

Watch the birdie

The parents are back, been on the phone twice already, bless em, I love them dearly, but the silence was nice whilst it lasted.

Living in a sleepy Somerset village can get pretty mundane, so when a body is found in the local river, all hell breaks loose. As dark and sick as it seems, the gossip and excitement level increases ten fold, it's all anyone can talk about, which I suppose I should be thankful for, if it happened often it wouldn't be of interest, the mayhem goes to prove just how rare an occurrence something like this is.

The theories flying around are from one end of the scale to another, murder, suicide, cult activity, when the truth be told it's more than likely one of the many locals who likes their cider a little too much. Whatever the story, the talk won't die down for a long, long time around here, petty speculation is rife, there are a lot of people that need to venture out of the county once in a while, maybe then they would realise that the world doesn't end a mile past the Bl@ck Swan Inn.

Yesterday, some flash git in a BMW gave me a V sign because I dared to pull around a car when he was coming towards me, doing at least 50 in a 30mph limit and how could I ever contemplate inconveniencing someone of immense class and caliber. When the hell did someone last use the V sign for gods sake? That went out with the ark didn't it? He may as well have shook his fist at me like an angry farmer who's caught kids pinching his apples.

I had enormous pleasure in showing him how an insult should be done by mouthing 'fuck off', whilst giving him the birdie. I can only hope he took notes.

Dirty Little Miss

Lets get that depressing crap off the top spot shall we.

Remember the Mr Men and Little Miss books? I have no idea if these were out in the States or not.

Well, they were and still are my favourite kids books.

But I'm loving the new additions even better than the traditional!

and my personal favourite

Thank you all for leaving such lovely jubbly messages, you are all sweeter than 1000 Iced Belguim buns.

Selfpityitis

Yet another list, simply because my mind is for to fucked up right now to construct anything other.

It feels like a skewer is being plunged repeatedly into my knee, causing it to give way at any given moment.

My 85 year old grandad who just does not want to live anymore and is lower than low and understandably uses me as a sounding board.

Somehow managing to shut my fingers in the electric car window, all by myself, without assistance.

Being over a week late with my period but still getting the crappy symptoms.

Doing my best to support a an absolutely heartbroken close friend, whose only remaining family are both dying at the same time.

A neighbour that never, ever, takes her turn in hoovering the shared staircase and appears to choose the day after my PAID cleaner has hoovered them to traipse mud in and just leave it.

Not having the courage to confront my neighbour right now.

Having a brother who has everything and likes to rub it in. "Look at my new BMW, look at my new lawnmower, we are going to Disneyland...."

Noticing babies everywhere and trying to ignore my biological clock that just does not understand the concept of 'Can not have children'.

Wanting to become a qualified Rodentologist, but apparently unable to physically do the 5% practical part of the course.

Having my car splattered with mud, by my next door neighbour's gardener, only 2 hours after taking it through the car wash.

Slipping over in the kitchen and cutting my finger on the bread knife that just happens to be on the side.

Receiving a insensitive comment from an acquaintance, that pain is 'only mind over matter'.

Still waiting for the lump in my neck to be seen too and all the while trying desperately not to dwell on the fact it might be another tumour.

Dealing with the symptoms of that lump that keeps me awake at night.

Knowing I will wake up tomorrow and have to see both my Grandad and my upset friend and feeling guilty for dreading it.

Am I drowning in self pity or what?! I'm sorry, I really am sorry it's all doom and gloom. This just isn't like me. Give me 24-48 hours and I will have snapped out of it. Promise!

Anyone who wants to kick my arse... feel free... I could do with it. Normally I just look at someone worse off and perspective arrives, but right now, it's proving to be illusive. Gah.

Take a look at the number one treatment for selfpityitis.

Listmania

Oh it's been too long, my humble apologies ....... Kinda.

I am rejoicing in the knowledge that I have a stress less 2 weeks in front of me. My parents are tripping the light fantastic in Menorca. Hurrah.

Example of the daily check in telephone calls that I will relish having a reprieve from;

Mum: I got up at 6, did some ironing and baked some scones..

Moi: Hmmm

Mum: Then your dad got up and I made him porridge..

Moi: Uh huh

Mum: I was at pilates by 9 and today we did the 'scratch your arse with you left toe nail position', followed by the 'doing this will give me a double hernia within 6 months' position, followed by ........Etc etc

Moi: Riiiiight

Mum: Then I popped down Tesc@s and picked up some lettuce.....

Moi: Yeeeeees

You get the picture right? Every minute detail, every day, every week of every month.

So far, in only 12 hours of them leaving home, I have;

Taken a nap in their bed,
Used their washing machine
Used their tumble dryer
Read their paper
Used their telephone
Eaten a whole pack of their Jaffa Cakes
Spilt milk on their carpet
and
Flicked ash on their perfectly groomed patio.

I'll probably spend more time round their place in a fortnight than I generally do in a year.

I graced my brother with my presence over the weekend, on demand mind you as I'm never one to invite myself........ Err unless who ever it may be is on holiday of course.

My confidence is pretty crushed from the experience. One of many reasons being that my 7-year-old niece, continually whipped my arse at The Simps@ns playstation game. Which delighted her slappable smugness no end. Never having played with a play station before, I nearly had heart failure when the controls vibrated, if the little tyke had not been their, I just may have put it somewhere else.

Also, Spongebob Square Pants, what's that all about, I realise I'm a hundred light years behind with this revelation, but come on people, how gayer could he be?

He's also pretty funny if I may say so.

FNAR FNAR, JOLLY FUNNY ME.

Edited to add - It's only been 14 hours since they left and they are texting me already, give me strength!

Zummerzet overload

May bank holiday Monday aka May Day, in Somerset, means village celebrations and entertainment must be endured through the eyes of cider overdosed locals.

This activity is compulsory, if you are found down the local DIY shop on May Day, instead of at the above mentioned appropriate gathering, you are promptly put against a wall and shot.

Who am I too argue?

Activities include medieval plays where normally respectable folk ponce about like loons.....or Jesters.. Posted by Hello

..or Vikings that have mated with Bumble bees.. Posted by Hello

..or men living out their fantasies. Posted by Hello

Much flowing of alcohol results in 'It's your round, tight arse' sword fights... Posted by Hello

.. followed by drunken jig ya arse off with The Huckleberries..even if it is raining... Posted by Hello

..by which time you might be able to stomach the Morris Dancers.. Posted by Hello

.. who like to wave their snot riddled hankies in the Somerset air... Posted by Hello

..followed by bashing their sticks together, cos Morris Men are hard.. Posted by Hello

.but alas, all is not lost, for the first time in history, a sexy Morris man is discovered..

...which results in so much flustering, that there is only one place to look. Posted by Hello

As wrong as it feels to fancy a Morris man, I would still fondle his geeky stick anytime.

Hope you had a good Bank holiday weekend and if you are in a country that this did not apply too, you don't know what you're missing...... thankfully.
